Dr. Mary-Clair Yelovich is a rheumatologist who is affiliated with McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and with Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. Prior to her medical training, she received a BSc in Biochemistry and a BA in Philosophy from Queen’s University, where she then remained to complete an MA in Philosophy, with a thesis that focused on the importance of recognizing the patient’s expertise in treating their chronic disease.


She achieved her MD at McMaster University, Internal Medicine residency at the University of Toronto, and her Rheumatology fellowship at McMaster. She has a special interest in systemic sclerosis as well as in quality improvement (QI) and patient safety. As of July 2020, she will have completed a fellowship specializing in scleroderma through McMaster University and a certificate in QI through the University of Toronto. She pursues these interests together through research projects that look to improve patient care for patients with scleroderma.
